Wednesday: Galleries in Chelsea
In the raging heat we hit the streets in Chelsea, a neighborhood seemingly off the grid of public transportation. No buses ever showed up at the stops, and no subway. It is also a neighborhood of extremes - some streets are beautiful brownstones lines with trees, and the rest are underpasses, gritty car repair shops, and storage buildings. If I ever lived in NY, I would live in Chelsea in one of those brownstones. For some reason, I took almost no photos this day.
We went to our favorite gallery (www.stephenhaller.com) and ended up having a very enjoyable conversation with the gallery owner, who was quite genuine and friendly.
